People who bought new R, would you do it again ?
If you bought your R brand spanking new, and you had the opportunity to purchase a 2005 model, but with the same engine and body design of the 98-2001 model, would you? Or with other automobiles out there would you not consider it? Lets pretend the R would not be on a thieves list. Any other cons are accepted. Thanks
lets pretend everything is different than how it is
lets pretend i have a golden toilet
what the hell does it matter?
the car cant be bought new anymore
it wont ever be sold again with the same body style
what is the point of this question?
its a reliable car that holds its value well
no one can buy a car used, unless someone bought it new to start

This is the beginning of the 2006 model year.
The DC2 ITR was homologated in the 1996 model year.
A lot has happened since then, and it is old technology. You can buy nicer cars for the same amount of money, now.
I have no plans to get rid of my ITR, none at all. However, if I were starting over new, I would not be interested in the ITR. It's an antique compared to things that are available now.
Hell, even that damned new Mitsu has 260 HP.

I don't buy new cars. Whatever I could afford new would be slower than what I could afford "used".
You avitar is interesting though.

Like George said before me, I would not buy an ITR today. I would take my money and buy an Elise or the new Cayman. But, having said that I am not getting rid of my car - there is too much work into it and it just feels like 'home'.
(and I can still pass bigger, faster, rwd, more modern cars on the track...

</TD></TR></TABLE>Well I saw a type r for sale on itrca.com. It has only 9,000 miles. Thinking of maybe purchasing. Just thought I would get a better understanding of how certain owners felt about the R. I do not like any of the 2006 models. Besides I got to ride in a type r and I loved it. Seems like people follow other people nowadays g35, wrx, is300. I just really like the type r for what it is. just like some people swear by chevy/ford. I love my honda Anyway thanks for your thoughtful insight.

Its just a car.
Dont go off on a tangent about how the ITR is god's gift to automobiles

I bought mine new, and still love it, with no plans to get rid of it.
But echoing the above posts, if for some reason I was buying a new car right now and the ITR was among the offerings, I doubt it would top the list. Too many good new cars have come out since 2001.

I bought mine new and I have zero intention of ever selling.
There's not much out there in the $25k price range new that I'd be interested in today. Um, actually I can't think of anything. The WRX, eh, maybe.
Likely it would mean stepping up to the $30k zone.

[/QUOTE]Exactly. I just feel this is a great reliable car. Maybe not the fastest but enjoyable. Thanks guys for the input.

The R has a mystique that the years cannot dampen. If it were being sold today, I'd buy one.
I still think the DC2 Integras and BB6 Preludes were better cars than the EP3s and DC5s that came after them. George, you said you wouldn't buy an ITR, but what would you buy? An RSX?
There's still nothing that gives you that raw racing-car feel for $25K. The offerings in that price range are just so-so. The good stuff is in the $30-40K range, like EVO MR or all of those AWD Subies.

Sorry to get off topic,
George, i testdrove the mitsubishi..
Its an overweight pig with a SUV motor to be exact. I love the torque and the pull... but what do you expet out of a 3.8litr V6? GREAT TECHNOLOGY/EFFICIENCY!! /saracsm
its also like driving in a weird cubicle spaceship..
Im currently selling my ITR.. i LOVE the car to death, infact i traded in my 2002 RSX-S for it!!! but i need more room (kid), so im looking to get an WRX STi for a replacement.. plus something to drive in the winter!

i would buy another, its definetly a fun car to drive. Its also nice knowing you are driving a car that is a limited production, kinda like an 03-04 cobra, without the supercharger and all
i would enjoy my car more, if i had a forum i could go on and talk to people with.. reid email me plz!

If you gave me 24k and said I had to spend it on a new car and ITR's were still in production I believe it would still be on the top of my list.
The only car that I can think of that's comes close to being as well rounded for the price is the WRX.

Id buy another one for sure, there is just something about the rawness and feel that I havent felt in any other car. All others are too watered-down or something, even if they are a bit faster. The Lotus Elise is the only current car that really tempts me and hell I cant afford that.
