I replied in your post here (last post...) maybe you should read it before you say they suck.

I will repeat 1 thing though, A dohc ZC will blow up just as fast as a B16 or a K series, if not properly gone through when recieved from the importer.

ignorance is at its greatest when the unknowledgable try to act knowledgable.

Ive had a ZC and its the best motor Ive ever had. Ive been through 4 different motors in my crx. Stupidly I sold the zc to fund a Z6 turbo project that blew up. Worst mistake Ive made with my car. Get what you want not what everyone else tells you to get.

you talking sohc or dohc zc. i have a sohc zc, and i like it. real simple swap, but i already had mpfi(crx hf). hey, i don't think it sucks, and if you take care of it, your motor won't blow.

I run a DOHC ZC in my hatch. Basic bolt ons and rev it to 8250RPMs regularly (raised rev limit). I have never had a single problem in the last 3 years.

I had a ZC with a 50 shot. It ran strong as long as I had it. Now that same ZC has a JRSC on it and it runs great.

Anybody that tells you that a specific motor "sucks" has issues with that particular motor. I don't particularly care for my D15, but she doesn't suck (she runs quite well actually). If you want a ZC (DOHC or SOHC), get it. If you want a K20, get it. Forget what everybody else says, your opinion and final nod is what matters. If you think a motor sucks, then don't put it in.

Now since you are asking for other people's opinions, IMO, get the USDM D16A6, and convert the whole thing to USDM spec Si. Nothin wrong with that, and cheap as hell to get and maintain (compared to other possible options). Not to mention that there are so many more parts that you can get almost ANYWHERE for USDM motors compared to anything JDM/EDM.

I had one in a 90 REX and it didn't "blow up and ****"....ran quite nicely. Who ever you have been talking to...stop...the people you talk to probably think D16's use headers as well....ZC's are good, D16's are good, H22's are good, b16's are good ETC....humm those are all Honda/Acura engines too...imagine that....I hope my sarcasm was noticed.

when i got my dohc zc 2 years ago i changed water pump timing belt alternator, startor, distributer, valve lashing the whole nine yards... since then i have put 100,000 on it and done regular oil changes thats it. runs fine. i have no reason to belive it will blow up anytime soon. the reason they blow up is because people think you can bring them to 7800rpm's (redline is 7200) all day long. thats when they blow up. sure you can bring it to 7800 once in awhile (i wouldnt). thats my story. the dohc zc does blow up often for people because there mostly 16 years old and cant afford a b16 but want to drive like they have a b16
