Default Want to swap out HX

Well guys i want to swap out my 1997 SOHC HX Piece of Sh*t motor with a different SOHC motor and i was wondering what would work and be the best. I would do DOHC but not enough money so if you could give me some ideas.

P.S. I searched but couldn't really find any good solid information regarding swaps with HX's.

Thanks

I love my y5... sure it doesn't have much for aftermarket support but you gotta love the gas mileage especially with the way gas keeps going up. I just filled up today and it was $26, when I got the car 6 yrs ago it was $13 to fill up. I make more money now than back then but I'm still *** broke. Now as for your question what would probabally be the cheapest would be to stick a y8 head and tranny on there. Also how many miles have you got now and is there anything wrong with it that you wanna swap it out.

I boosted once and it was fun. I was boosting again but said **** it. I know just changing the ECU makes a WORLD of difference. I love my P28

you can probably get the parts to do the y8 conversion pretty cheap then turbo it. If I remember right the y5 has .2 less compression which is better for boost. But if you want something that will make a difference is to get the y8 tranny, I've got one but I'm waiting on a new clutch and flywheel before I stick it in there.
