Default Good location for smic?

I'm curious to see where some of you have stuff them. I will hopefully be getting my hands on a dsm setup soon but the thought of finding a location for that smic is mind boggling. will it fit in front of my radiator and behind my bumper, or I guess I'm prolly gonna have to trim that bumper a bit. but how much trimming does it take to get it to fit? are there any other places I can stuff it that would still give it descent flow? I kinda wanna keep it hidden but if I end up stuffing it behind my bumper I guess I'll just paint it black and try to hide it. anyway I have a 91 lx with a 92-93 front that has oem fogs so those fogs will prolly get in the way of the piping but hell, who knows.

This is where every Factory turbocharged car's side mount is located.... it'll work well enough for the time being. But you def gotta get a front mount for best flow

Thanks man, a friend just gave me an idea, what if I relocated my battery and my coolent reservoir, then stuck the side mount there?

It should be out front, you have any idea hot freaking hot it gets under the hood.....you'd be doing more damage than good keeping in the engine bay. You mine as well not run an intercooler. If you do, mount "in front" of the rad, and trim the bumper a tad if necessary. It is an air-to-air heat exchanger, got to have the cool charge for more power man.

an intercooler is hardly functional if there is no cooler air hitting it. in the stock battery location, both sides are surrounded by hot, ambient air under the hood. widening the hole in the factor airbox is a good idea, but then you have to make sure your splash guards are tight so you wheel doesnt shoot up rocks at high speed; and at the same time make sure its getting plenty of flow for heat exchange...and if you do that, you'll probably have to remove the battery anyways for the charge pipe to run from compressor to the IC

yeah, thats actually what I was talking about, I would cut the shape of the side mount out and sink it down into the wheel well.

Honestly, why bother with a SMIC? It gets heat soaked so fast and isn't really efficient even under low boost. I would honestly say spend a little more for a johnnyrace car FMIC and know that your engine loves you.

I have said it before and I will say it again; a SMIC is about as efficient as a fat chick on a treadmill eating little debbies.
