Default Koni yellow maximum spring rate.... ???

Hi I just want to know if they would accept the following rate :

575 front / 675 rear or even a little more.

or they are build for softer spring rate ? Cuz usually ther will be matched with something a lot smoother.

Thanks

there is no exact number but most people say that 600lbs is the max that the dampers and properly dampen

at those rates you should probably buy the race dampers currently available. 675 is too high for effective damping with the OTS valving, even at full stiff. The race dampers do not come with the lifetime street warranty.

c'mon, you know they don't make anything car-related moist.

no, koni has made production runs of the yellows with spss3 valving, which i believe (don't quote me on this) can handle rates comfortably from 500-1000 lbs/in.

here's the thread CRX Lee made in the RR/AX forum when they came out:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1151376

you can probably find a set for a little bit under $1k.

if you decide to go with softer spring rates, user 'chad' is selling some NIB sets he has laying around: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1348578

if you get the 8041 RACE units they are already shortened and revalved. If you don't already have Koni Sport units, this will be cheaper and much faster than buying some and having them built to this spec. If you already have some or can get a set for about $100 or so, then it will be cheaper to have them serviced if you haev the time.

I would like to personally thank Lee for his efforts to get the 8041 to market. Hope it is paying off. I'm loving mine.

i asked at the runoffs
where they do the service for only the price of parts no labor

they said about 140-160 per shock
but they also had the spss3 shocks for sale at 190 each
it was tempting but i had to pass
