... What's your set-up?

Typically the Blow-Off Valve is too loud in Neutral. Do this, get going in First Gear, shift into Second, wind it out until about 4,500RPM, and let off. You should hear it then.

And Turbo Timer, and Boost Controller isn't going to correct a random boost... If you're randomly boosting, that's not a good thing.

Just give some more details.

sounds like you need to do alot more research (no offense)

turbo timer has nothing to do with the boost level- it spools down the engine after hard driving slowly- instead of just all at once, it basically extends the life of your turbo cycling out the hot old oil and such.

Without a boost controller there is a spring in your wastegate which controls the boost level, it is always the same level- so if your boost is all over the place you go some serious issues.

What is your setup? Engine? Turbo? Exhuast? Intercooled? Injectors? Internals?

Need a lil more info to be any help...

give it the gas! bov wont work when u just rev it, not enough pressure build. like they said... take it to second gear and spool it up till u feel it pull a little harder than it should, then release the gas, u should get your pshhhhhhh! if not, u probably got a boost leak or something is not hooked up right or somethings loose.

what turbo?
Sounds like your plumbing or engine managment is the cause....
More setup info... You really are best off having a person who knows what their doing mess with it. Turbo systems are a lot more complex and touchy then one may think.

you NEED to take it to a shop, you don;t know what you are doing. Do that before the engine blows up... Do you have wideband at least so you know your not running super lean?

To everyone who says that you dont build boost in neutral that is false. i build boost in neutral, as well dose my BOV goes off. Also to the original poster, this seems like a joke, thats not that funny. It looks like another thread where alot of misinformation is passed around.

well my set up are:96 ek9 civic b20vtec
jdm pr3 b16 head stock (soon will replace with fully built gsr head:crower dual valves springs & retainers, stage 2 port n polish, super tech valves, 3 angle valve jobs)
b20b stock(with block gaurd)
gsr tranny
skunk 2 stage 2 manifold
skunk2 stage 2 cam gears
t3 xs turbo charger
gsr cams
2.5 exhaust pipe
mugen exhaust silencer
votec FMU 12:1
msd:boost timing master

well the turbo does boost in first gear until like around 4k rpm
and for 2nd 3rd 4th gear it start to boost at 3k rpm wich boosting about 5 psi
because the turbo boosting randomly, im have'nt get a chance to rev it yet..i only bring them up to 3k rpm...i will soon tune it with VAFC i just want to know that why when gear remain in neutral, you cant hear the BOV when you rev it huh?

What BOV are you running. If it is adjustable, then make it reall soft, but keep in mind that you can get some boost leak if its too soft.

... In case you didn't pick up on my sarcasm there, I was laying it on pretty heavy.

As for...
