i konw about the **** on the tranny. but i heard that just affects the pedal freeplay. also what are the symptoms of a twisting/binding cable? my pedal has about an inch of freeplay , how do you change the engagment point!!. please help

adjusting the **** on the cable by the tranny is the way u move the engagement point ...

sounds to me like u just need a new clutch

 

u might be right. so how much freeplay shuold i have at top. does it even matter? the helms said about an inch. but i drove my friends si hatch and his has likeall freeplay and engages just an inch form the floor. his clutch grabs hard. mine grabs like an infant with baby oil on ther hands

 

its all preferance really where u want it to engage...
try adjusting the **** until it is how u like it...maybe ur friend likes it engaging an inch off the floor

still sounds to me like ur clutch is slipping and u need a replacement

no he has a 90 si hatch. i guess im gonna ahve to spring for a replacement . any suggestions

 

just replace ur clutch...what other suggestions can we possibly give u?
