Best mount kit for a EF b16a with turbo???
Which mount kit will give me the best amount of space to pop in a turbo kit? Motor is a gen 1 B16a. I have been looking at Hasport, HCP, and Place Racing.. Any insight would be appreciated.
TIA

Hasport gives you just a minuscule amount of clearance over the HCP kit. However, the HCP kit comes with 4 mounts. 4 mounts are not too too crucial if you are only making average power. After about 400, you need to start thinking of either solid mounts or 4 eurathane ones that the HCP kit comes with. I would not get the place kit if I were you. Stick with either the HCP or the Hasport. NExt is the price; Hasport if you have the extra money for the shiny AL....or just get the HCP kit if you want a great kit at a great price.

I used the search and found that the HCP front mount need to be modded quite a bit to be used. What if i only run 3 mounts? How much will that effect the situation? I am planning on running about 7 psi until i can buy a good bottom end (Forged pistons, and good rods).. so basicly, its gonna be low boost for a while. I really dont care about a couple of pounds of weight difference between the Hasport, and HCP mounts, i dont really need flashy (Bling bling) i just want functional... im not one to pop my hood, or put my car in shows.
All you have to do to modify the front motor mount is remove the subframe, cut the tabs (that normally hook to the front motor mount) off about 1" or so....and redrill a new hole. It takes about 5 mins if you have the subframe off.
Oh yeah, I am an authorized dealer for HCP. Mounts kits are:
4 mounts and adjustable linkage....410 shipped
385 shipped if you send me a core linkage...stock d series...nissan...ford...whatever...just a core...haha

stock 90-93 teg linkage is a perfect fit.
it just has to be shortened with hasport mounts.. 2 3/8 inch..
i see you've entered the DARK side... lol
are u still 'shopping' or have u decided..???

does anyone have any pics of the actual HCP mounts... not the picture of the mounts on the plush sofa please... the new mounts are black right?
The mounts are black....but you can get the eurathane in either red or black. The pic of the mounts on the sofa and the linkage that have the red eurathane nuggets are the new style.
