Default transmission help, a weard noise?

Hey, i got a 93 ls, i just bought the car about a week ago. it has 154,000 miles. when i drive it the trans makes a weard noise, or i think its the trans. well it happens when i down shift, and when im off the gas in a lower gear, say im pulling up to a stop light, down shift, and i let out the clutch and im off the gas it starts making a weard noise kina like a grinding but not its hard to explane, then i step on the gass and it goes away, only when im working against the grars i guess. but see the thing is that it runs perfict, shifts perfict, and has plenty of power. its just a noise, wondering if anybody car tell me what it is . thanks

My car did that... my other integra. It turned out it was the bearings inside the trans. They were like OK when under accel. but when pushed opposite(decel) thay were grinding alot. You should have seen them when i got them replaced HAHA, they have like a metal cage that separates the *****, and it was in 5 pieces and bits of metal all over...

Hope ur car lasts, but racing on it at 150k+ is bound to be more problematic than a lower mileage. Even though its a honda, a raced trans only lasts so long.

Wheel bearings maybe also?

should be around $80-120 but you must take the tranny off yourself

a typical clutch installation costs around $500 on average. so i'm going to assume it's at least that much if not more.
