on the 5th gen lude, there is a plastic piece over the clock, hazard buttong, and the two center air vents on the dash board. i'm planning on making a custom gauge cluster for that area. can anyone tell me how to remove just that piece, if possible? thanks.

 

place a small flat head screwdriver in between the bottom portion of the plastic piece and the dash above the AC controls...push down on the screwdriver and the clips should pop then put the screwdriver on the top portion of the plastic piece and pull forward and the other clips will pop...make sure u only use the flat portion of the screwdriver and not the shaft when u are trying to pry the top portion off because u can deform the piece

 

i'm not talkin about that piece that surrounds the radio and a/c controls. this is that small rectangular plastic part of the dash itself immediately above the clock and the two air vents and to the left of the passenger side airbag part. i want to fabricate a gauge cluster for that area. but thanks anyway.
