what happened??

Default what happened??

i was driving my ls/vtec hard and the oil light came on and the next day i poured in some oil and now the thing is making a knocking noise between 3500rpm and 4500rpm... what the hell did i do???

The oil light is not for low oil, it's for low oil pressure. Did you actually check your dipstick, or just add oil in?

Either way, you most likely starved your motor, and it's toast now.

Did you use ARP rod bolts in the LS/VTEC swap? Most likely rod knock in that RPM range. Also make sure your external oil line is nice and tight with no leaks, could easily be losing oil pressure there..
