this problem happened yesterday. my ac compressor doesnt stay on long enough to give out cooler air. it keeps switching on and off by itself. how do i fix this problem? thanks in advance

 

There are pressure switches, low pressure and high pressure. If the freon is low then the low pressure switch will shut down the compressor soon after turning on the A/C. If the system is over charged, then the high pressure switch shuts down the compressor to avoid excessive pressure in the system. Check the presure switches and freon charge.

 

this happen to me I went to the junkyard and got me the two ac relay for 10$ now it works fine.

try to jump the relay theres a little plug that goes conneted to the two relay un plug it the take a wire and jump it if then turn you ac to max if it gives you cold air then that means you need ac relay.

well that what happen to me and i got the relay i have no problem am good to go.

had that problem a few years ago. Somehow the contacts on my compressor got corroded or wet or who knows but there wasnt good contact being made. Went over them lightly with some sandpaper and never had a problem.

Could also be a compressor clutch but that usually either fails or works.....unless its starting to go out...?

 

Yep, that sounds like the time my ac compressor took a dump on me. I think it wsa the clutch in it, atleast that is what the ac guy told me.
