Default Aluminum wheel refinishing

Hey guys,

I picked up some old school Riken wheels today for 40$ CDN. (I love old school Japanese stuff, and mesh rims. A match made in junker's heaven.)

I plan on painting them myself, but first I want to have them professionaly cleaned and have the curb rash machined. Can anyone tell me around how much I'm looking at in total to have 4 wheels cleaned and the lips remachined? (not much damage so it wouldn't be a massive labour bill or anything...) Just paid my tuiton, don't have huge amounts of money to throw around so I wanted to price it first.

thanks,
Jason

Nice rims... how (color etc.) did you plan to paint them?

I'm not sure, my first impression was that I'd simply reapply a few coats of the original colour. Now I'm not so sure. My sedan is Laguna Gold, so I'm not sure how good it would look to have gold rims on a gold car.

Anyone have any ideas/recommendations?

Are you talking about this color:

If so, I seen a 88-89 sedan sitting in the parking lot at a gun show I went to. It had the either factory 88-91 prelude or 88-91 civic option wheels that looked like the ones you posted above. I'm not sure if they were the prelude or civic wheels, but they were 14" and had "H" center caps, If I'm not mistaken, the civic options were 13"? Anyway, the car was the same color as mine, and the wheels were supposed to be black, but were faded to more of gunmetal. It looked pretty pimp, there for a while after that I was looking for a set cause I liked the black/gunmetal on gold so much.
