2003 Honda Civic Hybrid Factory Alarm - Want Disabled
Somehow my alarm was turned on. I don't know how it was turned on. I don't want to use it. Is there some type of combination i can use to disable the alarm with the remote or the key in the ignition? My local Honda Dealer wants to charge me $95 to disable the alarm. I don't want to pay that much for something that could be as easy as pushing a few buttons. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Thanks,
look in your manual for an alarm fuse? I'm not sure what you're talking about, because my hybrid only has the panic function, but shouldn't it turn off when you unlock the door?
I'll check out the fuses, but that wasn't the solution I was really looking for.
I thought all I had was a panic function. My remote has 3 buttons, lock, unlock, and panic. When I push the lock button, the doors would lock. When I push the unlock button, the doors would unlock. All of a sudden, my alarm has been activated. When I push the lock/unlock buttons, not only does it lock and unlock my car, but it now turns the alarm on and off. On my center console, below my radio, and above my cup holder there is red light for the alarm. When I lock the car, the horn beeps and the alarm light flashes, showing the alarm is enabled. The alarm was never armed as long as I've had the car. It is annoys me to have the horn beep whenever I lock/unlock the car. It is also very embarassing to set off the alarm accidentally.
Somehow I managed to enable the alarm. Maybe some combination of pushing buttons on the remote? I don't know how I did it, but I want it turned off and I don't want to pay an arm and a leg.
Anyone else have any ideas?

It may be an aftermarkey alarm that works w/ the factory remote. Pull the panel under the driver side dash and look for an alarm brain. It may be as simple as unplugging a factory install aftermarket alarm.
Fixed!
I bought the car used and I was unfamiliar with the alarm system. When I bought the car it was in vallet mode. All I had to do was have the key in the ignition and flip the hidden vallet switch. The alarm indicator light showed as solid red, the next day it was no longer lit up. Back to normal, as far as I am concerned. Now when I lock my doors with the remote, that is all it does. There is no beeping horn or accidental setting off of the alarm. Thanks for the help. I'm glad it is resolved.
