2000 B16a2 into EG
I'm doing a 2000 B16a2 into a EG. If I go using the 96-01 Integra engine harness, will the alternator input and distributor input harness plug right up? I notice the 2000 SIR alternator is a 3-wire input oval. While an OBD1 harness from civic is 4-wire circled. Also, I'm using a P28 chipped. Do I have to run a purge solenoid like the OBD1 motors use? The purge solenoid is the black cylinder unit on the back of the intake manifold. Located on the top right. Another question is, can i use the OBD2 2000 SIR injectors for the swap? need info ASAP for swap. thanks!
ok i'll try to help the best i can off the top of my head. all the engine harness plugs will plug right into the obd1 car harness. the alternator plug i thought they were both 4 wire so they can just be swapped or just use the obd1 alternator.
now the intake manifold is way different. because of the evap purge solenoid and the IAT sensor. if you are running a p28 you will not need to run the evap purge solenoid at all. then you either need to drill and tap the intake manifold to hold the IAT sensor or extend the wires and mount the IAT in the intake arm.
or just use a different intake manifold

IMO you're making a mistake but swapping it over to obd2.. you wont be happy with the results and power loss... if you decide to keep it obd1 (which I would) you can use the obd1 alternator, you just need to make up an extension to the bracket to tighten the belt. As for the injectors, I used the obd2 injectors but cut the wires and and wired it in to the obd1 harness.... color match everything.. Including the distributor....
i have this same swap in my eg, You can use your factory harness just change the alternator for a 90-95 teg one and use the stock eg injectors(same as B16). Just add wires for vtec and oil pressure sensor to the chipped p28. You can change out the distrib. or cut and paste colors.
What make is your car ? EX DX etc.
If it already has vtec just get a obd2 gsr harness and everything will be pretty much plug and play. There will be a few plugs left unused but you you will be able to keep all the injector and alternator and all the things off the 2000 B16 engine. The harness will directly plug into the chassis harness and everythig will work fine. No need to switch things to obd1.
