Carb cleaner. Bad for paint?
I did a search and came up with nada.
I'm removing the sound-deadner from on of my CRXs (the slow way), and some1 suggested I use a can of carb-cleaner (spray can) to remove the gooey residue.
I just wanted to know whether it would damage the paint?

dont get it on exterior paint it will leave spots, but inside its ok just wipe it off i used it to get all the gunk out of the engine bay when my motor was removed, if it sits too long the paint wipes off with the gunk
carb cleaner is a heavy solvent. it will dissolve your paint. not instantaneously, but if you start rubbing excessively with carb cleaner, you will find your rag becoming the same color as your paint...
