Default X-bars in Hatches and Tegs?

I've been seeing alot of these "X-bars" in Hatches and Tegs and ive been wondering what all of those do and if they are really effective? I'd assume it stiffens up the car but wouldnt a roll cage be just as effective if not more? I just think it looks rediculous with all those bars at any mounting point u can find.

the more bars you bolt in in random locations, the higher probability that you're suffering from a disease called "I'm a sucker and i'll do/pay anything for garbage car parts".

ifyou ask me that's partly true and partly not, when a reputable company, say Benen Industries makes a part, I think I would bolt it on, but I wouldn't buy some bs x brace from Weapon-R or something because it "looks cool"

basically, i want to see some of the research behind these "BARZ AND BARZ"--is there any?

The frame lock guys came through with some hard numbers and figures and i can appreciate that their product may have an affect--but i want to see one of these dry cleaner bar makers tell me how much a chassis is going to deflect with and without their bar, how much that'll affect laptimes and skidpad #'s, and moreover, ANYTHING that isn't just some retarded as marketing pukefest like "imagine the back of your car midcorner."

give me empirical data or beat the crap out of my with those idiotic looking bars--just don't put them near my car...
