OK, All you know it alls!
I have a 91 hatch (STD),car died. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the fuel system.Probably the fuel pump. I'm looking at performance fuel pumps, and I see them broken into catergories! Can I go with a different pump?Or do I have to use a pump set for (DPI)?Or can I go a head with an upgrade?
OK,I'm going to be doing a swap this summer.I currently have a dual point (DPI)injection. I was told I would have to up grade my pump when switching to a (MPI)?
So, can I upgrade to a (MPI) pump now?,and add a fuel regulator to keep the fuel psi down and adjust it when i add for the motor I have now?And then for the motor I plan to use in the future .Or is the (DPI) pump enough to fuel the upgraded motor I'm putting in ? D16 or B16!
All responses welcome

as far as i know the mpfi (si) and the dpfi (dx) fuel pumps are the same, i have a dx and i did a d16z6 swap, and the factory dx pump is fine...it runs great....and i was wondering the same thing, so i went to autoshit and looked up the part#'s and the dx and si have the same part#
I recently bought not one, but TWO '99-'00 fuel pumps (thought the first guy flaked, he didn't), and will have them soon. I'll have one available for sale in about two weeks ......
still having trouble bro? you know you can take it down to your locale dealer and have them diagnos it for like 30-50 bucks then at least you know whats wrong with it.
dont guess, find out whats wrong for sure. dont waste your money. and both pumps are the same. The main relay, is under the drivers dash, and that supplies pwer to the pump, those do go bad often, but usually the give warning buy hard starting conditions in warm weather, after the car has been run, make sure you have spark also, before jumping to conclutions. you can see if you are getting power to the pump, buy using a test light, you can test it at the relay, u will need a diagram, or just test it at the pump. the wires are very easy to get to.
its pretty rare for a fuel pump to go out. I would check the main relay or the distributor. they go out alot. the relay is hard to get to but you can tap on it and get it to work again sometimes. the distributor may be under warranty from honda, check and see. they had alot of problems with them.
