VTEC head, VTEC head bolts. Most likely length and threading, although I'm not sure the exact reason... Why is the sky blue? Who cares? You just need the vtec head bolts.

On some engines (not hondas), you have to replace bolts every time you open them. Because they stretch when you torque them.

Yep, Everytime you take apart the head you are supposed to replace the head bolts, Also quiet a few gaskets and other things.

the reason you need to change the head bolts in 1 because they are strech bolts and 2 they are to long. get the ARP head bolts for a b16 and your be fine you can't go wrong using ARP bolts. and there not strech bolts so you can use them about 3 or 4 times max then you have to change them. another thing you should know is that when you pull a head off you have to have it pressure tested and machined along with getting a top end gasket kit for the motor. head gaskes, valve cover gasket, intake manafold gasket. i recomend gettinf a multi lair head gasket from your local honda dealer and getting the hondata bone intake manafold gasket from http://www.hondata.com you'll be set after you do the simple spets i just told you. hope everything works out with the swap

Can you produce something from a Honda manual that says they are stretch design - replace? That's where a great deal of the confusion comes from...no one has to my knowledge and I know dealer techs that reuse.

I hope I got a single lair headgasket...if your headgasket layers are living in more then one place, you've got trouble.
