Default Does anyone know a good exhaust for 2004 Civic EX?

hey you guys. Just got a 2004 civic ex coupe (manual). Does any body know any good exhaust system for the car? When i mean good, i don't really mean cost, i mean good as in power and weight, along with any other factors. if you guys have any suggestions for intakes, springs, or anyother items, please note that too. thanks.

What's best? Nothing. Exhaust on a 2001+ Civic is just a noisemaker. If you want the sound and looks, go for it, but if you want power, forget about it. MAYBE 1-2 hp, thats it.

honestly...that's all hondas....unless you've got money under the hood...
I would just buy an rear section...gives a good sound, inexpensive and easily removable....try 7thgen, theres a guy on there with a JIC rear for 250-300..his screen name is JDMCIVIC, his name is Phong....Same name, on here too!

thanks guys, is it really going to be about 1-2 horsepower? i thought it would be a little bit more. I guess it would be more for looks and sound. What bolt-on would give you the best power gain for an 04 ex then?

How about headers? DC Sports has the race headers with no cat. convertor. I also seen a race header by hp racing. The hp racing header has a free flowing cat. convertor. Truehonda.com states that it can give you 7-8whp. Does anybody know which one would be better? Or have any suggestions as to other headers?

not all hondas...the k20 loves bolt ons..

the d17 powerplant is good as is. by throwing on bolt ons (i/e/h/cat), you'll be getting a simple 3-7whp. not worth it unless you want looks and sound.

as for good exhaust, hks hi-power rear section, apexi world sport, rsr ex mag, check out truehondas site. and http://www.dezod.com http://www.importhorizon.com

theres an "rate your exhaust thread" at http://www.7thgencivic.com based on looks, performance sound, fitment, etc. thought you might be interested looking at that

do you think you would find more of a gain using a complete cat back exhaust over a rear section after have a crower cam, spring, and retainer set in?

Wako, RSR makes a nice exhaust for that car and as far as headers there isn't a huge selection of them and better yet the prices of some aren't worth it since you won't gain too much on the D17 so for that reason I'd say go with a DC Sports Header.

Is the rsr exhaust really good? i thought they were just another knock off brand with poor quality products. I know i won't get that much horsepower off of a catback exhaust, but how much would you expect from it?

Very good, and nice finish on their products as well. Nope not a Knock off brand, RS-R (Racing Studio-R) has been making race parts in Japan since the early 80's.

Here are some pics of the 2 exhausts they offer on the 01+ EX.

Exmag (quieter system, a bit louder and deeper than stock):

Exmag GT2 (Louder straight through design):

Well with a Bolt on Type Axleback you would need an OEM Replacement B pipe (meaning that the B pipe conforms to the Length of the Stock unit and uses identical flanges) Most aftermarket Catback exhausts do not conform to this as there is no need to. So your choices would be somewhat limited for b pipe replacement you'd have to find someone who makes a bolt on unit (I think either the EP3 or DC5 pipe from T1R should fit) or have one welded up custom.
Either way you'll probably end up spending more if not the same amount as buying a full catback.

like the look of the exmag gt2. Still a whole bunch of other options when it comes to exhausts but ill have to take the gt2 into consideration.

i heard the tcs2 was extremely heavy, didn't produce good power, and really wasn't worth the money.
