Default On a security note...(A theft prevention idea)

Just an idea for all you cautious (and for good reason) ITR guys: When ordering ITR specific parts, whether on H-T or elsewhere, do you have the packages sent to PO Boxes or alternate addresses?? Just seems like this could be an easy way to find out where an ITR sleeps at night. It might not be a bad idea, just adds another layer of security. Whatta ya think??

Parts go to my work address. I also don't give my address to guys that work at import shops.

I have parts shipped to either a work address, or my PO box. If it's a friend of mine, I will have it sent to my home.

Another board that I am on......a member had his escalade stolen. They recovered the vehicle but the 20" chrome wheels were taken, and within the same night, tried to auction it off on ebay. So....yes they do try to sell on the internet as stupidity knows no bounds.....

just think about the random little doohickeys like seats, steering wheel, random interior parts. obviously nothing with VIN numbers or anything like that, nothing that can be traced...

or maybe they use it on their own car

Hood pins... Can be defeated easily when the car is in a shop where they strip cars.

How so? You guys choose to drive a car that is always one of the top cars to get stolen, then you complain when it gets stolen. Seems to me if you didn’t want to worry about theft, you wouldn’t buy something that is a target.

Your point is well made, and yes we do opt to own a specific car thats been proven to be tracked and targeted for theft. Its not the car for you and thats great.

The remainder of us will continue to enjoy the car, and should the unfortunate happen....WE MOVE ON! Sure we complain...and so would you if anything was stolen from you.

If you don't like the fact that ITR guys complain about thieves, stay out of the ITR forum. They were given their own forum so that they can talk about whatever ITR-related material they want, and theft is one of those things.
