Default possibly scammed by: acura69gsr

Amount in transaction: $12 USD
Item supposidly purchased: a $27 dollar rubber window guide rail cover.

The Story: He's parting out his car, from an accident.

Discussed what i needed initially, asked if he needed a picture. He declines. I asked him, is he absolutely sure he knows what im looking for. He says he knew exactly what i wanted.

3 weeks later, I receive a bag from acura69gsr (aka Casey Smith), with the wrong part. The used part he sent was a $14 dollar brand new part from acura. Here's a picture:

He sends part #7. I needed the rubber part #6/#16. (6/16 both point to the same piece).

Seeing the mix up, i figure, its a small inexpensive piece I was looking for... probably mistake. I email him this to clear things up:

Now I'm not looking to nickel or dime this person. In fact, i even said if hes willing to send the right part that i've sent him a link of, i'll pay for shipping!

This is his initial reply:

Sounds like it was a rushed reply. He's trying to tell me the part he sent me is worth $14 dollars brand new at acura. OK. Why the world would i pay $12 to someone for a used warped part? Let me send him a PM on honda-tech to clear this matter up:

OK. we're getting somewhere..except, I have contacted him twice via phone, (no response) and no further replys from honda-tech.

Casey: I want to make this very clear, while I think this is an misunderstanding, I do want it resolved in a timely manner. $12 is trivial, but its the principle behind this. Could be $12, $120, or $1200. All the same to me.

Reason for this post is that:

1) This sort of activity is way too common on H-T.
2) Lack of replies via private communication. Lets see how public forum goes.

Please feel free to contact me. I've left you my number in a PM. I will try to call you again, but if this is not resolved by labor day, I will consider your intentions less than honest, ask for an immediate IP ban, and post your personal information here, to warn others not to deal in any business transactions with you.

If what I've written above is not clear enough, all I want is the proper part i've requested, shipped to me even at my own expense or, a refund of the unused $12.

Dude, I suggest you pay this guy asap for what it's worth. I mean how much simpler can it get. Those drawings are idiot proof with numbers to boot. If you reach a consensus on a part based on a number and illustration, admit you f- ed up and pay the man!

Personally, I wouldn't buy anything from someone who communicates like this:

One a last note, if you sell a part to a Honda-Techie with a sign-up date of '02 or earlier, may want to follow through or stop doing business, especially in the ITR fraternity, um, forum...

To me, it would not be worth the aggravation for $12. I would just go to the dealer and buy the part. The guy is either illiterate or English is his second language

I hope it works out for you.
Otherwise, you can always tell him: "NO SOUP FOR J00!"

I have my driver's side door from my wrecked itr, if you need a piece... I'll send it to you for free.

It's always disheartening to read about dishonest sellers/buyers on the forums (even when it's a relatively small item such as this). I've only had a handful of negative experiences when buying or selling on Honda-Tech, but it really shouldn't happen at all.

Can I ask a dumb question? What is it we do to lose these things?

Do they just fly off into the weeds at 140, or what?

LOL... I need one, too. Just doing w/out it at the moment.

's not only an ITR problem. One of mine fell off the week after I bought the car. The other I took off and is now hidden under the rear floormat.

Tom, I might have part 6/16 sitting in my basement. Let me check. If I have it, you can just pay shipping and have it. I have no use for any integra parts anymore.

acura69gsr DOES seem to be quite laggy in getting back with ppl on h-t... but perhaps that's because of other issues in his life and not necessarily due to poor intentions.....

fwiw, i've been talking to him about getting parts of his jdm front end.....

A local delt with him and made a thread about it, but i am not gonna get into it, as its none of my business.

I made an offer on his interior, he lagged to reply, but then again i lowballed him, so its understandable.

Yea, its amazing to see someone like the guy tom is dealing with.... or someone selling stuff weekly or more often who cannot even send a damned $20 part for over a month and a half, and act like a compete delinquent. (my experience)

That was my most recent experience with jackassery - last fall. Since then I've noticed this person has their own website and is selling a considerable amount of stuff. LOL. I hope he now knows how to use UPS/Fed Ex!
