Default My electric trunk

Well, i got the idea from a member on CBRworld.net forums. He used a trunk actuator from a ford escort. I had him send me an identical one, and i wired it up to a switch that gets power from the tail lights so it's only on when the key is on. There's a spring (temporarly mounted now, i'm going to solder it soon) that pops the seat. So all i have to do is turn the key, hit the switch, and POP goes the passenger seat. Here's some fun for the eyes.

little switch

after pressing switch

the mess

Glad to see that your relay worked out.

actually, i didn't get a relay. It still sounds like a good idea, but i don't really understand how to wire it up. All i did was change how i mounted the cable end to the actuator so that the actuator isn't fully extended when you start.

Hey, all props go to McVaaahhh (brian) on CBRworld. He wrote the tutorial. A couple other guys mentioned the idea, or that they had done it, but Brian took the time to write it up. And he found an actuator for me. Stand up guy. Here's the link to the tutorial on CBRworld.net
