Default Test pipe or resinator pipe?

Anyone have any experience with a test pipe or resinator pipe on there car. I was thinking about installing one on my gsr but just wondering how peoples experiences went with it first.

Test pipes are incredibly loud and annoying IMO

yea my buddy has dc sports 4-1 headers, n1 exhaust and test pipe on his 96 LS, sounds good, VERY loud, but i dont think the performance gain is worth the noise

Leave the test pipes at the track.

get a highflow cat. i have a resonated pipe, and it is still really fricken loud. plus, with the pipe, you may lose some low end power.

ok this topic is getting quite confusing

testpipes, cat convertors and resonators are 3 different things

if you're replacing the cat. convertor you have 2 choices, high flow cat or test pipe. Personally from team-integra.net the difference in gains between the two is very very very very minimal. Nothing that can be felt for jack ****. Go with the high flow cat because it's very stupid to kill the enviroment for .01 hp.

After the high flow cat you have the choice of a straight pipe or a resonator...GO WITH THE RESONATOR. The resonator WILL NOT HINDER any performance in your exhaust set up, it simply reduces the exhaust noise by the use of reflecting noise...i believe so but am not sure on that part. But if you ever look straight down a resonator...you'll see that it's completely straight with some small holes...which is why it DOES NOT HINDER PERFORMANCE.

Go with a resonator, it reduces the noise and helps you give that deep tone, on some mufflers w/o a resonator you'll have that ricer sound...and rice isn't nice.

resonator + high flow cat

thanks for clearing that up!

testpipe=more high end power (esp mph), loud

cat conv=just a lil bit more restrictive, quieter than test pipe

resignator=WILL affect performance, it does quite down the loudness and can give you a better 0-60 time but sacrificing your high end (noticablly)
