Default Will a cold air intake improve or worsen gas mileage on my D15B2?

Hey guys, apoligies if this is a repeat topic, the search server is apparently down as of the time this was posted.

I'm just wondering whether adding a cold air intake to my stock D15B2 will improve, worsen or not change my gas mileage? (assuming I continue to drive conservatively)

thanks,
Jason

It wont really change it. Actually most of the time you get worse because you step on it harder to hear the intake and to "feel the power" Anyways a cold air on a d15b2 is a waste of money IMO.

it will vary the gas mileage. I don't know why you want a CAI on the b2....but all power to you. The cai will increase tq and hp a little, and the gas mileage like any kinda driving will reside with how hard your foot is on the accelerator

if its a d15b2 its a dx right? make sure the intake is for the dx, cuz i got the aem one, but didnt kno it was only for the si/ex models, and thats the only one they make for crx's so it like hits my hood and doesnt fit good, i wouldnt recomend it, either go custom, or short ram, not worth it to get a cai for a 1.5.

You should increase your mileage, as you are reducing your pumping losses.

It would change the gas mileage, as long as you don't punch it

It's a 1988 LX sedan, 5 speed.

I'm pretty good about driving conservatively, I like my low gas bills.

I've heard two "theories" about it. One is that in bringing in more air the engine adds more fuel, thus making more power and reducing fuel efficiency. The other (mentioned before in this thread) is that it's more efficient, and thus fuel efficiency increases...
