gauge cluster help

NEED HELP FAST, GOING TO COLLEGE!!!

how can i determine if the Tach on the gauge cluster is good or not, it's giving me incorrect rpm's at high rpm's ; at idle it's right, but i think it's getting exponentially wrong as the rpm's go up. is there some kind of adjustment on the gauge cluster somewhere to fix it? help!!! BTW (1994 Honda Civic EX D16z6)

incorrect how? does it say they are higher than they are or lower than they are? how do you know its wrong?

it's reading much lower, about 2 grand lower. I know it's reading incorrectly because at the top of first gear im hitting about 43 or so MPH before fuel cut, so i know im at the top of first gear. and the car is reading about 5200 RPMS.
