Default 91 GS auto tranny.....

I have a chance to buy a 91 GS for pretty cheap...I plan on building up to 225hp in 1-2 years....should finding a good tranny upgrade be a problem? any suggestioons? I did a search an found level 10 but there kits for honda/acura are 92 an up, plus its kinda expensive....lemme know what you think I should do...I appreciate the help......

get a car with a manual tranny. I bought an auto and i am kicking myself right now for not waiting to find a decent 5speed integra. upgrading a car with a manual transmition will be alot easier than with an auto. gains will be better and you won't have to take as many precautions bc manual tranny's can take much more abuse than an auto.
mho.

yeah man.. don't buy Auto teg if you are planing to soup-up the car

i have 00' GS auto myself but recently do the GSR tranny swap and it feels great now...... still got few things to go over (coz 00' OBD2V2 ECU is not a joke)
rest of them are fine.....

I'd like some more info on your tranny swap if possible. I myself am planning to sell my teg in the summer, but I want to prepare for the worst (not being able to sell it and not being able to find a decent 5speed for a good price). I'm sure you spent a decent amount of money for the swap with installation costs (unless you did it yourself?).
I'd appreciate any info. The more detail the better

k......I can get this car for "no more than 3000" so would it be worth it to buy while I save for a 92-95 hatch then build an swap the engine into the hatch????

How many miles does the engine have on it?
If it has alot of mileage, it would be better to saved that $3000 for the hatch and for a full engine swap imo.
