shaved door handles
can this be a do-it-yourself project? can you give me some help/guidence on what to do, how to do it, what to buy, etc... or should i just let a shop do it.
Don't be gay and shave your handles, instead go buy a set of Rear Door Handles, buy them to match your car. Then take off your front ones and install the Rear Handles in their place. You will have to modify a few things, but it looks so much cleaner and you can still race at events.
If you know how to stick weld then go ahead. If not I recommend taking it to someone that has done it before. I plan to shave an antenna hole but even I am going to advice of someone who does this more often. Although I plan on doing the work myself and don't blame that you want to.
The best I know is weld small areas and let cool down or you will warp stuff (metal) take your time and don't hurry.
AND PLEASE DON"T USE BONDO!

not hard juss take lotta times n sweats if u dun have the right tools. juss buy 2 or 3 sheet metal, not too thin cuz the weld gonna melt through, cut the sheet metal into door handle shape, weld it on, grind it down the weld spot to evenly then bondo glass it, sand it down evenly and smoothly then bondo it again(juss to be sure) and juss sand it down til it all smooth and evenly and ur all done, as for the poppin mechanic thingy, juss get the shave door handles kit that offer, i recommend do that first b4 seal the handle, cuz it a pain in the *** if do it after lol...anyway if u dun wanna get messy, then let the shop do it, i did it myself and shiet it fukin tired...but i guess it worth in a way hahaha
you can diy , i am i doin that right now. for a good kit( autolocs) itll be lik $235 [remote kit for frnt doors] remove you handles cut out a peice of sheet metal in the shape of the handles, weld tem in place. and wither use bondo to fill in the rest along wit putty or fiberglass. i use bondo cuz i had fiberglass in my roof moldings and they began to crack and didint stick to well to metal. its not hard just time consuming and getting the exact curves of car to blend in is a long process,, this is my first time.. ill post pics as soon as i can

alittle more advice would be to install a cable that goes from where the actuator from the kit hooks to the door opener then run the cable to through the door, the door jamb and into the fender then have it come out in the wheel well, put a ring on the end of it. Do this incase your battery dies or something happens to your actuator so that all you have to do is pull the cable and your door will open so that you wont have to break a window. This is something I learned from expierence and alot of broken windows.
