hey guys, I have a question about a recaro seat I've been offered.
The seat is non-reclinable and has the usual wear on it but is there any way to find out if it's real or not?

its real, at least they do make a non-reclinable Recaro. I believe it's called the SPG.

very sweet seat though... not sure if there are 2 different styles, looks like yours could be the older version.

Looks fake, the harness holes at the top arent like normal recaro. The molding of the back is different too. My spg:

ive never seen the "RECARO" stitching like that , usually its sewen into the fabric .

ya, the holes and the recaro "badge" dont' look right at all. possibly could be the older spg or pole position seat

I've searched and didn't find much on this seat. But I think it's hard to call it fake because what other brand could it be with the back portion that looked like it.
The holes for the harnesses probobly do change from some models and this might be an older model seat but who knows.

I'd just like to checkup some info before I drive down and either waste gas or buy it.

if the only thing on the seat that says recaro is the "recaro" on the fabric then id say its fake.. usually there are markings on the hard plastic part also , like the seat above .

Yea, the owner of the seat didn't take any closer shots but I did email recaro and I am waiting for their response.
Only thing I don't understand is the back portion of the seat and construction of it, if it is a fake then this is a pretty good dam copy
I might drive up to the guys house today to give it a further inspection

That's what I'm thinking. Just from those pics, the seats could be anywhere from 10-20 years old. For $60 CDN I sure as hell would buy them.

Same thing I keep thinking...that this is one of those old skool recaro seats. The design looks very similar to some of their latest seats. I'm going to drive down and further check out the seat today

You know... for 60 bucks CDN (about 50 US, btw), it's probably fake, but who cares? That's a great price even for a fake.
