Default Boosted Auto

I'm planning to boost my 5th gen but the only problem is that its automatic. The tranny has been rebuilt around 75,000miles the car now has 111,376miles and runs really strong. I'm seeing alot of treads saying that Honda auto trannies are weak...but i would really like to keep the auto with the boost. Has it been done and how long has it lasted??

The 6th gen trannies are weak on the V6 cars. The 5th gen cars have little to no problems. The Honda trannies do not like to handle massive amounts of power so keep that in mind.

Why not swap a newer accord or acura v6 into there?

It doesn't make sense putting a V6 in there....probably H22 when the F22 fails.

I thought of boosting my auto as well. I don't want to do no more than 10lbs anyways being a daily driver. but may i ask why is it the you think the auto will hold boost better. what tuning system can be used with the auto tranny that most tuners can tune. i know hondata is out. they are pretty much for manuals. aem i am sure would work but thats a 1000 unit. i am not sure on uberata, chrome, and neptune for a stock auto ecu.

You're right if he has a 4cyl but if he has a 6cyl accord dropping in an acura 3.5L will cause that car to haul rear.

Yeh i'm looking for a nice daily driver 5-8PSI....tuning wise.....someone told me to use a SAFC but i don't know if thats the best thing.

I believe Autos keep the boost levels higher during shifts because there is no need to release the throttle. If I'm wrong, someone correct me.

As far as tuning, why would you need to tune anything in the tranny for boost??? Tuning only comes into play with fuel and ignition correction for your desired level of boost.

As far as using an SAFC for the AFC hack, this will simply solve your fuel problems.

Some of the big hitter cars in the drag racing scene are running built auto's... although it can be quite expensive, they are very consistant and whatnot mentioned above.

If you want to rebuild the thing to handle the power... throw in some new clutch packs, a worked valve body, and a good converter... worked wonders on my old car, which was an h23 car with bolton and a shot...

do you have to buy a different turbo kit for an auto? or is it the same as manual? also, whats a cheap and easy way to set one up?

no there is no difference in auto or manual turbos. i know you don't tune the tranny. i was referring to the ecu for auto. most of the tuning for high hp output is 5 spd. i know the avafc would work but hondata and some of the big names will yeild better gains. avafc maybe the only route unless auto support for turbos comes about.
