Default NASA OH/IN - Waterford Hills review & pictures

I had the pleasure of spending last weekend (8/13-14) at Waterford Hills in Michigan with the OH/IN region of NASA.

Waterford is a great track - short, narrow and tons of turns. It can be a difficult place to pass until you get the rhythm of it. To top it off, we had very light on again/off again rain clouds pass through both days so the track temperature would change between sessions. Still, it was an incident-free weekend that featured some great racing.

As always I have a ton of pix (800+) up at http://markus.smugmug.com under NASA event photos. Following are pictures of some of the Honda-Tech crew.

Paul (Rex_boy) was there in his H1 CRX, unfortunately he was still down on power. If his problems are resolved by Beaverun...watch out!

Andy Hughes was also there with his H4 Integra, here he's doing the "pissing dog".

Ryan (CanuckR) was there instructing, doesn't he look like a serious instructor?

Here he is again, looking fast.

This is my buddy Mikey getting the front wheel of his 996 up:

You can tell Mike was working hard out there, check out the seatbelt sweat stain...

Here is Big Al (AllenP on here) giving me some pointers:

Al was nice enough to come crew for us all this weekend, having someone around to help is a great thing and much appreciated.

Last, here's a very "intimidating" Spec Miata.

Enjoy

- Mark

Thanks for pictures and update Markus. It was definitely a fun track to learn. I just wish I was running a little better. I broke down on the last lap of qualifying on Saturday and had to be towed in. After looking at a bunch of stuff on the car we pulled the distributor cap and something fell out. I then moved the rotor and realized it was my set screw that came loose. We spent the next 20 mins looking for it in the grass and around the engine compartment. We finally found it and got it back together with a little loctite just in time for the race. I still hadn’t time to eat or drink and felt like **** in the heat, but as it turned out my car was still down on power and I couldn’t keep up with the pack anyway.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I sure there is going to be a lot of talent at BeaveRun so I will be the least of their worries.

Good pics, Mark. Looks like the whole crew of Loose Moose retards was out there except me. Maybe next year I'll be able to HPDE too.

You can drive the Miata, you'll just have to leave the teddy bear training wheelz on.

Nice Picks Ryan (canuckr).

I got to say watching the Big Bore race both days was quite entertaining. The blue Mustang was just fast, and to watch Mistawy drift that audi through turn 1 was really cool.

It's a long story.
