Any difference between a karting suit and road race suit?
I've already got a driving suit, but to do karting(f125 for ex.) would I need a specialty suit needed for karts only? It appears the kart suits are much cheaper, but I'm not sure if they have any different features compared to something made for racing cars.
Did a search and couldn't find anything.

About 1200º I think.

A kart suit is designed for abrasion resistance and is not at all fire-retardant. A kart suit would melt to your skin in a fire and that is definitely not a good thing. Doesn't stop a couple of guys at the local dirt track from wearing them though.
so would it be ok, or advised to use a road racing suit while karting. Thats really what I'm trying to find out.
If a kart suit is designed for abrasion will my suit just get torn up if its not designed for that?

I've used both, unless you get a good karting suit like OMP or Sparco they are all going to feel kinda bulky and uncomfortable. I was using a race suit at my own risk for many years, which was stupid, the materials used on karting suits let you slide if there was ever a roll-over or you got tossed outta the kart. A race suit will just get ripped up and cause serious road-rash. Plus you don't want to wear a race suit in a kart because it gets totally caked with grease and oil and is impossible to come out.

I don't race one yet. I'm considering one as well as a few other options for my next race car/kart. If you could I'd be interested to hear what you have for sale though. Could you PM me.
Thanks

If you are going karting buy a karting suit. Wearing your driving suit will offer you as much protection as wearing a sweat suit if you go sliding down the track.

Kart suits are designed for abrasion resistance when you fall out and slide along the track at 80mph.
Driving suits are designed for fire resistance.
According to several kart clubs, full motorcycle leathers are a suitable substitute for a kart suit, but are most likely not cut well for a seated position. And probably cost more anyway.
