Default I don't know jack about lowing my car, can you help?

I would like to lower my car this summer.

The most important factors for me are price, being able to jack it back up for winter (adjutables?) and quality.

I will not be racing the car (track, street or road course). It is a daily driver that I would love to have a little more fun with. I don't mind harsh rides but keep in mind I live in Quebec and the roads here are THE worst in NA for sure!

I ques I'm looking for new shocks and springs, what do you guys reccoemnd?

Thanks

Ohlias

since your looking for ride height adjustability.. you should get coil overs like Ground Controls w/ Eibach springs or skunk2s... i would say to get Koni adj sport shocks since i have and like mine very much.. but since price is one of your factors (koni's are about $500).. then maybe you should look at the KYB AGX.. its still a very good shock and is adjustable.. a lot of people seem to like them and they can be had for $300+...

do you really need height adjustability? if not.. maybe you'd be coo w/ a set of Eibach pro kits and some KYB AGX's.. that is a fair low priced spring/shock combo that you could put together.. it does a mild drop and fits well w/ your price constraints/concerns..

Thanks fors the advice. Sounds good, but I think I need to go with height adjutibility. When I put stellies back on in the winter, I want to jack it up...

is it the SPRING that is adjustable, or the shock?

a shock/strut can adjust rebound and ride quality. A spring kit with collars can adjust ride height.

Your best bet is get a nice set of all in one coilovers somewhere under a $1000 (apexi, apex, etc. do a search) little more than buying nice springs and strus seperately. Put those in place of stock set up for sumer driving and when winter comes you can throw your factory components back in.

If you want more info IM me on here.

you want both the KYBs AND the Eibach pro-kit for under $200? i dont think thats possible..(maybe in the used market.. not sure).. as far as i kno (i havent been spring/shock shopping in about 3 yrs).. the KYB's are around $300-320 .. and the Eibach springs will be around $180-220.. all depending on where you shop/find your deals...

i got my eibach sportlines for about $200.. and i got my Koni adjustable sports (yellows) for about $500... i installed it myself so install was about 2-3 hrs... cost was $0.. i did rent a spring compressor tho.. all the other tools i had already..

for the original poster.. your best bet is to look into a coil over set up.. although the Koni's that i have do have an adjustable spring perch.. it would be an extreme pain in the a$$ to adjust the spring perch each time.. since you want/need the height adjustability.. you should get coil overs.. my konis adjust damping.. but it would be too much trouble to mess w/ the spring perches every winter...

there is no chance for even getting a used prokit and set of kyb's for 250 -- no way.

original post -- get the gc's they are great in handling and ride quality is still pretty good -- id also reccomend some kyb's w that
