I know on my ITR motor it was the breather chamber. Ot's the black box your pcv valve goes into.

is there a way to bypass the breather, oil baffle. should i replace, or what. new to honda engines, why the oil baffle? can't find a oil leak nowhere on the car, that could result in approx. 2 qts in a short time, can the baffle release that volume. if i drive the car like granny, no problems, what kind of fun is that~!

You can only remove the oil breather by removing the intake manifold. I know 'cause i tried it last night. Your breather is probably partially clogged with gunky oil like mine. The pcv test where u squeeze the tube that leads to the pcv from the intake manifold is bullsh*t because the breather may be partially clogged. Under high engine load conditions there's more blowby gases which need to vent through the breather otherwise it squirts out from all gaskets.

I plan to poor some gunk degreaser into the breather via the pcv on my next oil change and let it soak. Maybe an engine fogger like deep creep would cure it too. Make sure you get a new O-ring if you remove the breather chamber. Good luck.

On another note, your compression rings might be good but your oil rings might be bad.

The last part of it is important.

Do you burn any oil in VTEC (blue smoke, obvious smell, etc.) or are you 100% sure that it's leaking?

Also under high rev conditions, the oil vapor will not go through the oil breather but up to the valve cover and straight into the intake manifold via the bypass hose between the valve cover and the intake. Oil then gets burned in the cylinders. The breather is supposed to separate the oil from the vapors. I hope to remove my intake manifold so i can get to the oil breather and remove and clean it with degreaser.

I guess an oil catcher can be placed on the bypass hose but really is a bandaid to the problem of a gunked up oil breather. I wish the oil breather was easier to get to.
