because some valve covers say vtec and some dont but u can tell by the spark plug wires should be in the front and u can see the vtec solenoid just on the back left of the head next to the distributor should have a little green plug

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't beleive that all EX's are vtec. I almost bought a '98 EX 4 door that wasn't vtec. I am pretty sure. But then again I didn't buy it so I could be wrong. But in any case kinda like ^^^^ said the vtec solenoid is on the left side of the head in front of the distributor.

Well, like northkai3 said, not all of them say it. I don't even think my D16 said it when I used to have it in my '97 EX.

To the thread creator, the 92-95 Si,EX, and Del Sol si all have the D16z6 which is a vtec motor. Usually, correct me if I'm wrong, only B series valve covers say "Vtec" on them.</TD></TR></TABLE>

ALL 92-95 Honda civic Ex/Si came with the d16z6 sohc vtec.

All 96-00 Honda civic Ex's came with the d16y8 sohc vtec.

Honda didn't start putting VTEC on the valve covers untill the '94 civic ex's

Just because the car doesn't say VTEC on the valve cover doesn't mean it isn't.

Look at your engine code stamped on the block, look for the VTEC solonoid.

I know a couple people need to stop posting misinformation and talking out of there ******* ***.

I've been here on honda-tech almost 3+ years and this is getting ******* bad<FONT SIZE="4">!</FONT>

Same thing here. Just the H and Honda Motor Co on my 94 D16Z6. Early modles of the ex/si had vtec on them. A few of my friends si's have the vtec and they both own 93 si's. Honda began to cheap out around late 93 when they started to not have vtec on them anymore. They even got real cheap in 94-95 and didn't even paint the valve cover at all. Looks like junk after a few years of being exposed.

Umm I never claimed that they didn't for sure say vtec on the valve covers. I said I THINK and to CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG. Not jump down my throat about it.

</TD></TR></TABLE>
I did correct you if i'm not mistaken? Yup i did and i corrected you in a friendly way so you were the jumping down my throat. You said correct me if i'm wrong and i said you are wrong my friend just like that. did i say hey dumbass learn your honda's! No i didnt so now i will say it learn your honda's, and if you don't want to be corrected then let me give you 2 pieces of advice.
1. Dont state in your posts "Correct me if i'm wrong"
2. Dont post misinformation
and im not referring to shane im referring to sense may fail him or whatever his problem is

It's too bad this turned into a bitch-fest instead of answering his question and arguing about the fact that you corrected someone.

Whoa, have you even bothered to read everything that everyone posted? Yes, you have VTEC.

Done.
