Default nitrous on automatic 6th gen

what do you guys think is better if i was going 60-75 shot? wet or dry kit? I am already 154whp...is adding extra 75 shot is smart considering its an auto, or you think I can handle it just fine with just tranny cooler? thx

I've heard wet was safer, nitrous more evenly distributed to all chambers+premixed with fuel====less chance of going boom, where is dry was easier to install and if only 50-60 shot is not that much of an issue as far as safety, but I NEED this info before ordering kit...Plus which kit would you reccomend? I've heard some very good reviews on ZEX, not sure if they have progressive controller with their kit, like Venom does....but I think Venom is only dry for my app. I wanted wet+progressive controller.I also heard NX has one, but not sure if it works the same way as Venoms' (as far as wired to TPS sensor, with linear mode)
Let me know what you guys know about this subject....I need to make a decision

From all the research I've done on using nitrous, I really regret going with a dry kit over a wet kit....I should have just forked over the extra cash.
That being said, I've been very happy still with the Zex dry 55 shot that I have been running this year

the auto trans on those cars are weak and you might want to consider having the trans rebuilt if you are going to run a lot of power through it

I'm with /\. 6th gen auto trannys were designed by someone who rode the shortbus. Several of my friends who are techs for Honda say that the two most common repairs they do are timing belts, and 6th gen Accord tranny replacements. The tranny literally has a fluid squirter directly over the 2nd gear, to try to aleviate the heat, but to no avail. My advise is to get a different car for N20.

I'm on my 2.5th transmission, and all I had was intake and exhaust. No neutral drops, etc. It crapped out on its own. Youre talking about putting a 75 shot of nitrous on an engine with a transmission that doesnt get fluid in second gear. Adding an extra 40 or so hp to the wheels on a car that cant handle it's stock power is begging for a fireworks show on the freeway at 80mph.

People have DIED because their transmissions magically stopped working on the freeway at excessive speeds.

Very true. Get the Honda Tuning Magazine I believe August edition and it covers NOS.
Otherwise I would not recommend any but if you must then limit it to a 35 shot or so.
Then I would say Tranny Swap 5-SP Please Hold the Torque Converter.

Have some fun.

on honduh forum there are a couple of guys running 75 shot on auto tranny that have been doing so for over year (one guy) and over 2 years, second....No issues so far....plus my tranny have been replaced by hondab during their recall...if using progressive controller that allows for gradual increase of a shot from 20%-100% that is rpm sensitive(hooked up to tps sensor) would you put less stress on axles and tranny? plus also if you get rid of a WOT switch and just shoot till right before it shifts, then shooting once hooked on to next gear? would that help the tranny life? or still no hope?

I'm currently boosted on my stock tranny with a large tranny cooler for almost 2 years now with no problems. I never accelerate hard from first to second, but after that I drive pretty hard with no problems.

The thing is, some have it and some dont. You cant say 'this person sprays for 2 years or 1 year with no problems, why can't I?"

Most likely, you'll know youve got it when your tranny goes. I haven't heard of a 'VIN bracket' or anything of the like.

If you do it, you risk blowing your tranny. Your tranny will go if you have the problem, and you can't stop that.

the thing is the tranny i have now is a replacement, cause the original started to slip at 20,000 miles with no freakin mods!!!!wtf? this new one felt a lot better from day one and still very tight and smooth, 2.5 years later...and that was at the same time i had all my mods installed...And since it is a replacement, i dont think honda went out and just got me another defective tranny and had it installed in my car, i think they would have had to fix the problem that made the trannys on 6th gen weak. Maybe this one CAN take the abuse a little better...I mean, there ARE people that been running boost on their auto accords with no damage for over 2 years now....plus if it blows, just swap in 5sp...just my thought

you boost that accord and your tranny warranty is out the window.

where do they get their transmissiones at? junk yard? there is the problem...it probably came from the car that still had the original (hence possibly defective) transmission, before they had a chance to have it replaced, like i did from the dealer brand new and probably a bit better built then the original...you cee what i'm saying? I think the replacement transmissions are a bit tougher then the ones originally installed....And since some people never dog their cars like i do, they never pushed their cars hard enough to brake transmissions, and so never had a chance to bring the car to the dealer for a warranty replacement. Some of these will eventually end up at the junkyard and some of us would buy a defective tranny....
I'm pretty sure if my tranny blows, i'm not going to junkyard, but 5sp

You can keep telling me how yours won't POSSIBLY go bad (i'm in 500 bucks repairs on the SECOND transmission from Honda, brand new, btw), try it yourself, and deal with at least 1200 for an auto to manual swap (if you do it yourself and find one cheap), OR you could play it safe, monitor your tranny, and hope to god it doesnt crap out on you in the fast lane.
