Subject - NASA Northeast's Weekend for everyone!
NASA Northeast will be hosting two events on the weekend of August 27/28!
We shall be at Pocono South for two days of HPDE. Drivers can expect tons of
track time, an excellent chance to hone your skills and move up through the
ranks of the HPDE Classes. Also we'll be holding our Competition School on
Saturday - an excellent opportunity for drivers to acquire their Competition
license and for old hands to learn a few new tricks under the guidance of
Charlie Greenhaus from Entropy Racing. Entropy Racing also has race cars for
rent - simply show up, learn and drive! Sunday's events feature an enduro
too - we highly encourage all Competition License holders to join us for an
excellent race. Spectators get an excellent view of the action on the track
and in the pits at Pocono South! Registration is open now at
http://www.nasanortheast.com .
Can't make it out to Pocono? Then join us for 5th NASA-X Event of the year -
to be held at Giants Stadium. Large parking lots, lots of spectating room -
spectators always welcome. Registration will soon be open. Be sure to check
in at
http://www.nasanortheast.com to reserve your place.

I plan on making it to this outing with my new car, but I've never done an HPDE before. Can I ride somebodies coat tails for this even and have them show me the ropes a little bit?

Sure
That's what HPDE is all about - learning to drive & having fun! Just sign up for HPDE-1 & you'll be assigned an instructor! There's also lots of people who are friendly & helpful! Also, look for me (the guy in the 4th gen prelude - I'll be wearing a tan NASA shirt) & I'll help you out as well

Linda/Simon reserved 2 rooms at the comfort inn. I may be crashing on their floor with my sleeping bag. I also spoke to Paisan & he is thinking of booking a room at the comfort inn. We'll definitely find room for ya

i think it is much more fun than Pocono North; lots more technical stuff; there is a tricky hairpin turn; there are some very fast sweepers, and you still get to go up on the banking at high speeds (120+ if you have a fairly stout car). neat course; you will have tons of fun!
i hear that there are still plenty of openings, guys!

This may be a long shot, but does anyone who is going have an extra pair of gloves I can rent/borrow/buy/whatever for Sunday? I've been so busy that I haven't gotten around to getting a pair and I think I might need some. Driving Impressions is on the way to Pocono, but they close at 1 tomorrow and I'm leaving after that
to NASA-NE & ENTROPY for putting on a great event. 5 sessions at 30 min each ment tons of track time. plus the rain gave everyone a chance to work on things in the wet. i had a blast as always. also,
to the comp school students. they got through the weekend with out insident
