k20a2 or k20a3 in a 2001 civic si
i thinking of swaping out the 1.7 vtec-e that is in my car, because i do not want economy i want performance, i am wondering what would be the best swap either the k20a2, or the k20a3, also which is cheaper and easyier to install.... i have no worked all to much on imports i have only owned domestics.... and what is all included in swaping this engine into my car... please leave some imput... cuz i am kinda going into this blind not knowing all to much about the honda engines
If you want performance get the k20a2, as it has waaay more potential than the k20a3. The k20a3 is cheaper, but it's worth the extra money to get the k20a2.

im confused, you said 2001 civic si? but then you said 1.7 liters, the si has 2.0 liters and it is already the k20a3 engine you want

i never heard of kincardine but i'm guessing you live in canada. Their si's are ex's here and our si's are sir's there. Get the a2 if you want the performance.

Yeah, for those confused... Kincardine is a small town up here in the Canadian province of Ontario... so when he says "si", think "ex". Anyhow... don't bother getting a K20A3... it's really not worth the trouble of a swap (since it's not a simply bolt in affair for your car). Get the A2. You can do sooo much more with it.
i know this may sound like a dumb question to most of you, but what does this swap to a k20a2 include, i know oviously it will be motor, tranny, and ecu, but is there many other other things to change.. i know motor mounts will have to be done... but what about suspenion to hold the weight of the bigger engine.
