I'm looking to build a stock block gsr my goal is 300whp @ 8-10 psi safely. I know the tune is key but what are somethings that sturdy the setup. It's a jdm gsr so it's running 10.6:1 instead of usdm gsr and it's in a 92 eg hatch.
So far

Koyo Rad w/ slim fan
rc550 cc inj.
Neptune or Hondata s200b
Either Full Race Stg 1 kit or PeakBoost Kit (both capable of 300whp)
255 walboro
3" Custom Catback
Hondata Intake manifold gasket
Cam gears
Colder T-Stat
Necessary Plugs
Wideband of Choice
Rest is stock internals, as is the intake manifold.
And a good tune.

Anything else I should add?

 

Coated ACL Race Series Bearings

 

should be good to go.. maby get new tires for when you smoke these ones off

Heat will become your worst enemy so look into thermal coating stuff like manifold, turbo etc....Also because of the heat, bolts will have a tendency to back out, especially between mani/turbo. Use Lockwashers, even if the bolts thread into the manifold, use longer ones and put nuts on opposite sides. If these don't work, look into safety wire, you drill hole in head of bolt and run wire through all the bolts so they cannot back out.

Header wrap your downpipe.

Don't foget a good crankcase ventilation system.

Forget the colder t-stat, stay with OEM.

 

I only suggested colder t-stat cuz i'm a lil worried about the fmic blocking some of the rad and maybe hurting a bit of cooling capability. I heard some boosted ppl having problems with that. Thanks for all the suggestions great info

You'll never be able to get your car properly tuned if you run a colder thermostat. The ecu will always "think" that it's in warm up mode and never up to full operating temp. As said before, stick with the OEM thermostat.

Dont use race bearings in your street car

 

maybe some bigger injectors
