Q on a price I was quoted.
You guys think $250 is too much for a 99-00 Si cluster? I really need a cluster since my temp gauge doesn't work and I will be making a cross country move in about 2 months. Just want input from site members.
not to bad, Im sure you can find it a lot cheaper if you wait and look around I got my del sol cluster for less then 100 shipped. the 250 is about what you'd pay from a dealership.
Yes, that is high priced. You can almost get a nice ctr for $100 more.

I bought my si cluster for $180

I knwo I could get cluster's cheaper. Right now I am using an EX one. I put my B16B in a few months ago....so I kind awant a workign temp gauge. CTR cluster is stupid to have in the US IMO.....miles are what we need, not KPH.
I guess I'll try to talk the dude down or somthing. If I can get it for 200 even then I will consider it well worth the price.

If the only reason your looking to replace the cluster is because the temp gauge isn't working do the following to make sure it is actually the gauge.. Ground the wire going to the engine coolant temp sending unit (single prong under dizzy) and turn the ign. switch to the on position. If the guage moves replace the ECT sending unit.. If it doesn't move check for continuity between this wire and the one behind the gauges.. If this checks out and the guage still doen't move when the wire by the engine is grounded, replace the gauge, it's simple. The part number for the fuel/temp guage out of the 99-00si (will work on any EK) is: 78130-S01-L01.
You can scoop this from http://www.hondapartsdeals.com for like $25, or just print out the page and take it to the local dealer, they will usually match as close as they can.. Now $25 and an additional 30minutes of work or $250 even ~$180, it's a no brainer to me... Just to give you a different scope on the situation..

it will plug in fine
EDIT: except the SRS plug..there is no plug for the SRS one...so what i did was take the plug from the back of the old cluster and put it into the SIR one...its yellow

Yeah you got a hook up. I personally have not seen an SI cluster for UNDER 200 on HT and they regularly go for close to that on ebay. I have been keeping my eye on them since I would like to have one but not at that price. WAAAAY too much money for a little bit longer tach

Yes, I am 100% positive that the mechanism inside the cluster is broken. Its all good....the cluster was free and it still works great except for the temp thing. I know my car never runs hot, so its not a big issue either.
IMO 200 is a fiar price for an Si cluster....sometiems folk stry to charge more for low mileage clusters, but that is just retarded.

$250 Is almost asking too much for a brand new one.

Almost as retarded as spending 10 times as much to fix the problem that seemed like it was the only real concern based on the origional post..
