Clutch, Is it worth it?
Yeah my clutch just reacently went out on my transmission and i have gotten quotes from the local Acura dealership and was wondering if you could help me figure what to buy as i am kind of tight on money and dont want to spend more if im not getting more
these where my choices:
ACT Stage II Clutch: QUOTED $453
OEM Clutch/Throwout Bearing/Pressure Plate: $391
NOT INCLUDING TAX
So would it be worth my money if i spent the extra 50-70$ for the ACT or would the OEM pretty much be the same
Thank you

If your car is a daily driver and you haven't added about 50 HP to it, it's hard to beat the reliability, OEM quality and longevity of the original equipment clutch.
OEM clutch didn't last me too long... but the ACT xt-ss has
but the pedal pressure is 2 to 3 times more, good and bad.
If you were to ask me if I'd get that same thing again, that would be tough to answer. I would like to have more modulation for track, but would I sacrifice longevity in the ACT hd-ss ?
For you, that uses the caR for normal useage and not many HPDEs, I'd say go stock...

You can find cheaper clutches on ebay for brand new. I recently purchased one cause my input shaft bearing gave out on my R. So I decided to do the clutch two. I picked up a stage 2 clutch with an 8 lb flywheel for 300. That is after shipping and taxes. Im on a tight budget to so I know how it feels. Now I have to buy a tranny but I have to save up that money first

iv got an exedy organic clutch and it came with a new throwout bearing and such and i only paid $270 for it brand new from a shop
look around for one of them, i havent installed mine yet but i hear they are very strong, have a close to oem pedal feel and are just right for the mods you have and will be good when you decide to mod further
and of course get a lightend flywheel like bbasso said they help alot

Did you use ACT throwout or OEM?

Try clutchcityonline.com I think that's still the website.. The prices are great. I'm running with a excedy it's pretty much the same thing as the O.E with an OEM throwout bearing. Make sure you run an oem one, I've just heard stories about the aftermarket throwout bearings being junk in the end.
Funny you ask...
I used the act throwout first... it went.
then I got a Oem throwout, it went too.
Now I'm using a Koyo throwout from Autozone which Willard recently replaced when he replaced my syncros. and it's still good.
