B18C ARP main studs, question for people that used them
I am about to install a set, and wonder what tq value did other people use?
ARP info sheet is at 70, which seams kind of high for this...
Stock calls for 49 short and 56 long...
Anyway, help is appreciated.
Regards,
Nino

Go with what ARP says
since you do know...you are using their product and they would know the structural integrity of the studs and how much you can TQ them to.

Well,
I went on one motor with their spec on Head Studs and it damaged the motor (shifted bores, and you can guess the rest). Snap On digital TQ, so I am confident tq was on the money.
This is my first time to use their main studs, therefore this question...
And I do agree, they do know structural integrity of their fasteners, but I am also sure that they do not know much about Honda blocks... It is true that each fastener requires certain pre-load to do it's thing, but there is always a bit of a range to play. While it is most certainly higher than stock, I would like to get on the lower end of given range...
Anyway, I know it is a long shot, but if anyone used these and would share their TQ numbers, I'd appreciate it...
