damn i was just wondering, even if they do bring the type-r over here (knock on wood) why do they bother putting acura all over it! i know i know (Acura = USA) (Honda = Japan) but my question is: was there anything else to convert on the <2001 acura type-r to a 01 honda type-r besides the emblems and besides the steering wheel being on the wrong side... (basically any mods?)

Yes, there are other differences Like Engine internals, Brakes, aerodynamics etc.

Basically the ACURA name was started as were Lexus, and Infinty due to the fact that Americans at the time (and some still do) think that a Honda is a cheap economy car, That is why ACURA was started so that honda could market the Higher class Hondas. In My Opinion they should just ditch the ACURA Name plate and start melding the Acuras into Honda again, Just call it Honda Primo and Honda Verno like they do in Japan, Different classes of cars are sold at certain dealers

That is part of it. Honda also uses the Acura name to capture a larger market share. It's the same reason why Kellogg would make a bunch of different cereals. The more "brands" they have out, the larger the market share they own. If you couldn't tell, I majored in economics in college.
