Anti-Theft for Honda/Acura Owners Part 1: *Towtrucks*
Whats up H-T I mainly post on another site but I see you guys have the same problems with car theft so I figured I'd share some threads I made because it has help stop ALOT of cars from getting stolen in the northeast. Feedback is welcomed.
This is the link to where I originated the post you are welcome to read the feedback i've gotten from this.

Lesson 1: "Forget what you think you know about stopping car thieves"
Lesson 2: "In case you arent aware, hondas are getting stolen left & right from owners who arent absent minded anymore, people who ACTUALLY lock thier cars up are getting there cars snatched".
Lesson 3: " If you think stolen cars are STILL being DRIVEN away, think again"
Anti-Theft for Honda Owners Part 1: *Towtrucks*
Before we begin, ask yourself this question: How fast could a Cheetah (fastest land animal known to man) run if all four of its legs were tied & bound together?
You guessed it. it wont go ANYWHERE. Now why wouldnt this same thinking apply to that Honda/Acura you spent so much money on outside?
Exactly. Your car has four wheels right ? (hope so) understand that anything you do security wise will NEVER be as effective as focusing on stopping your wheels from being moved. Immobilization is the only way of truly having a so-called Anti-theft system in place.
Now please dont think for a second I dont recommend Alpha locks, Pager alarms, low-jack, Auto locks, kill switches Ecu removal Etc,. I am just saying in addition to all that stuff, simply stand back & look at your car & think about how to stop your wheels from being accessed/moved/tampered with...
-Home Depot/ sells strong chains. get creative. wrap em around those rims you keep pretty. If you want wrap the chain in rubber so not to scratch them up.
-Tie the passanger rear rim to the driver side front rim & likewise to the other side. You dont have to do it how im describing, just get creative & its not expensive.
-For those of you who have cut up cars, well, cut out an access space INSIDE the car somewhere & make the intersection points for the locks to the chains there. this way no 1 can just walk up to the car to try to tamper with the locks without going under the car. Lets not forget, chains rattling around on the ground make HELLA noise.
-Look into wheel boots for your car that cover the wheel studs. Google Denver wheel boots they are all over ebay get a type that fits your preference & dont be cheap & get just one.. buy FOUR OF THEM.
****DENVER WHEEL BOOT TYPE 2****
I realize that there are two types of Honda situations:
Street Parking Hondas & Driveway Parking hondas I will try to address both.
(Indoor garage doesnt apply here this is for publicly parked vehicles)
Street Parking your Honda is probably THE WORST thing you can do. BUT some of us arent lucky enough to have access to a driveway like others. I would suggest renting out a garage spot especially if you live in apartments with high foot traffic. High foot traffic makes it less noticeable when people walk near a street parked vehicle.
The wheel boots are a MUST if this is your situation. Spend the money on these before you goto Project JDM for shiny parts that will end up on Craigslist, if your lucky enough to find your shell that is.
Driveway Parking- Now this can be a plus depending on how your driveway is setup. I would suggest always have a car blocking in yours. And put security on the car blocking yours in as well!! I cant strees that enough. What good is blocking in a Honda with a car with no security on it? Immobilize the wheels on that car too. Take out the battery. Take out the Ecu on that car also. put 1 or two alpha lock or wheel boots on that car also because its just as important to stop that car from ever being moved as it is your car from being moved. Think about it.
The main point im building to here is the fact that all these cars are NOT, I REPEAT, NOT being broken into, started & driven away. They are mostly being towed. These ninjas are breaking into cars, ROLLING them away from the owners location, & then having towtrucks scoop them up. How do I know? Because when a car has a severe leak & you can see the trail from the parking spot all the way around the block & then it just stops, & have a neighbor a block away see us looking in front they house at a trail of fluid that just suddenly stopped & tell us "Oh, I heard a towtruck putting a car on the flatbed late & just thought it was a repo or someone broke down"... it basically gives it away. Now YOU (the owner) wont hear the towtruck noise because its not in front your house loading the car its two maybe a few blocks away. Think about it
For those of you who will say Im giving "The Foot Clan" (aka Ninjas) ways to steal cars guess what, they already know this stuff. if anything now those who are not aware (New to the game/Been in the game but just didnt know) will hopefully become more vigilant & stop being lazy because are fully aware of what they are up against.

a member posted this in the thread i've been looking into it.. for $300 & $15/month it will text ur phone & send u an email if the car is tampered with or moves from the perimeter you can setup...Add the wheel boots & whatever else you currently do to lock ur car up.
I truly hope everyone who reads this thread never has to post a stolen car thread.
Good Luck

Re: Anti-Theft for Honda/Acura Owners Part 1: *Towtrucks*
people who really don't want their car stolen.
car theft is really bad in some parts of the country.
it's not every time you park but anytime you park for an extended time you want to lock your car up.
spending several thousands of dollars on your car and then being lax on security is what car thieves foam at the mouth over.

A tow truck doesn't care if your wheels will roll, infact they dont even care if you have any wheels at all. How do you think they recover the cars that get jacked and end up with no wheels? They just drag the car onto a flatbed. They could care less about the damage they cause.
I guess if those items make you feel safe good for you. It just sounds rediculous to me. Why not buy a 20 ton steel bubble, a crane and transport vehicle to follow your car around. Then when you park you can place the bubble over your car. LOL
There is ways around every piece of security out there. It's up to the owner to decide when enough is enough. I have a simple rule never put more into my car then what insurance will pay me to replace it. I'd rather spend the extra money buying a nicer car but that's just me. I find it highly odd when people have invested more in their upgrades then what the car is worth.

There is other ways to do what you trying to accomplish. No amount of chains and locks is going to prevent someone from stealing the contents or towing your car.

time for everyone to review their security set up again and see how effective it is.
If you just have a basic alarm....you must read this thread or re-read it again. Since this thread was posted back in December, thieves are still stealing. Check your set up.

Re: Anti-Theft for Honda/Acura Owners Part 1: *Towtrucks*
I'll just say I saw a car in pittsburgh blocking an alley to a parking area, and it was squeezed between two legally parked cars. The guy with the roll back just ran the cable down to a loop at the end of the bed and over to the car. Fired up the winch and just pulled the front end of the car out, undid the cable, took it out of the loop, re-attached to the car, and again just pulled the damn thing up onto the roll back. No grease, no anything. Tires didn't move an inch as they squeeled the whole way. So the "boots" wouldn't have done anything to prevent it, and if no one's the wiser they'd think it was someone getting hauled off for illegal parking, repo, whatever.

Never said it would work then That's why I said for those who don't know what's going on.. in your case your neighbors would more than likely know what was happening.. and the other point was about the boots doing jack crap in a situation like that
