recently installed header and hi flow cat to 2000 d16y8. after a day or so i was getting on her a little bit and the check engine light popped up. i asked some friends at the local shop if this was because of new install, and they said it was. anyone ever hear of this???

Assuming you checked the code, and it turned up as 2ndary o2 sensor or cat inefficiency = Yes - what brand is it?
Did you plug youre o2 sensor back in?

Is it a real high flow cat, or an ebay "high flow cat" aka resonator?

Probably didn't install your 02 sensor right or the computer's not recognizing it. Try pulling your negative terminal, put it back on and let the car idle for about 5 mins.
