Idle Speed Problem
Hye I have a 1999 honda accord 1.8 ies 4 cylinder vtec accord. The problem i am having is with the idle speed. When i give the car some accelerator and then let it come down to speed it drops below the set idle speed but then comes back up and settles at 750 rpm.
I was wondering if somebody knows what this might be, I have been told it could be a dirty Ilde air control valve.
p.s I am from UK and have a UK honda accord.
Any help appreciated

It could be a dirty idle air valve, so it wouldn't hurt to clean it. Also clean the throttle body where the throttle plate closes against the bore.
How about other tune-up stuff? How old are the spark plugs? I don't know what engine you have - is your spark timing adjustable?
It could be the base idle adjustment, check a repair manual for your engine's procedure. Usually there's a small screw in the throttle body which is a little needle valve. You unplug the electrical connection to the IAC valve, & the engine will stall (or almost stall). Adjust for about 450 or 500 rpm depending on what engine. Plug the IACV back in...

Hye
The plugs are new and the ecu was checked by honda and there was no faults recorded. They also checked timing and that was fine inclding plug gap.
The thing is that i can't see where the screw is, i had a previous honda and on that i could adjust the idle speed but on this it doesnt seem to have one.
Other than the idle valve do you thnk it could be anything else?
When the car has been on a long run and is running quite warm the speed comes down alot more smoother but i see it drop just slighly.
The car idles at 750 rpm and if i rev the engine between 750 rpm and 1000 rpm the speed comes down perfect like it should, its when it goes over 1000 rpm that it goes funny.
The idle valve is also quite difficult to get to,its on the back of the throttle body and there is no room to get a spanner there.
Would you recommend to get the idle valve cleaned?
the following is a link to the type of car i have, mines the 1.8 engine
