1997 Lude havin probs!!! HELP!
Ok i have a 1997 base automatic lude and heres the thing
Somtimes when i get in the car and start it my Battery light and Brake light stay lit while im driving. Somtimes when i tap the cluster they go out and sometimes they dont. I was driving home tonight and noticed when they were on my lights were kinda dim (cluster) then like 15 min later they went off and it got bright again. Two min later they went back on.
I dont have the slighest clue what it could be that both the battery light and brake light would be on for???? and clue please help
And for anyone who asks i dont have any probs starting the car or anything no dead battery at all.

hey checked my system with a voltmeter and with the car idleing and having it hooked up to the battery the system was only show like 12.4-12.5 around that
Check your brake bulbs and make sure they are all secured and making good connection....how they're related to the battery I'm really not sure, but you can drive to AutoZone and they'll check your alternator for free.....you want to look at amperage output, not just volts.
Like onefastrx7turbo said, go over battery cables and motor grounds and make sure they're secure.

the alternator should be putting out around 14v when the engine is running, any less and you rist weird electrical problems... like you have good luck
WELL ITS ONLY PUTTIN OUT AROUND LIKE 12V THATS IT WITH THE CAR RUNNING

its the alternator only if your headlights dimm at night while all thats happenin, but from what I see all you need to do is MAYBE take out your gauges and check the connection in the back, and yeh the connection on the battery (clean it with some sand paper) see if that helps.
