Low on Oil? When to measure?
Alright, the car was run about 3-4 hours ago; engine is still warm, I went to look at my oil level and it was below the lower hole on the dipstick.
Does this mean I am really low? Because I would think the long the car sits the more oil would drain in to the oil pan and the higher the oil level would appear to be. Is this correct?
I am going to go add some Mobil One now but can someone let me know anyways. Thanks!

this is what i look for in checking the oil level,
1st the car must be level
2nd when i check the oil i let it sit over night in the garage, ice cold
3rd the first pull i just clean it off the second and third pull is to take the measurement
not too hard right? but i do this every other time i open the garage to take the beast out
hope i helped you...

Checking the oil when the engine is warm is pointless.
Wait until all the oil has drained into the pan (3-4 hours after shutdown) or when the engine is cold.

Why would you need to wait more? Its not Heinze Ketchup...
Umm, you are supposed to check the oil when the engine is warm. If you check it when the engine is cold it will read low... oil expands when it gets hot.
