Default Buying a new ef

I'm buying an ef off my friend and selling mine to him and want to make sure I fixed my heat issues. So here goes: I had my radiator hose bust, my temp went up pretty high but I changed the hose and it was fine. I was trying to figure out if when the temp goes up like that if its possible that the thermostat got so hot it was damaged. I also only have pretty much all water in the radiator, which I'm changing back to antifreeze today. The temp has been fine, but when I got it on the highway after about 70mph the temp started to jump. Anyone have answers for me I'd really appreciate it

how hot did it get and how long where you driving it when the hose busted? its weird it overheats at high speeds cause at high speeds more air is going through the radiator.

It got pretty close to the red, I only drove it maybe a half a mile and I had the heater blasting as wellas I was cutting the car off and rolling as long as I wasn't going up hill.
