Default B16 Sluggish Stutter......part 2

ok, well.....on my 94 Delsol B16....i made a post about the stuttering sluggish problem I had. (still no SES codes yet)....here is my update*

*New* plugs, wires, cap/rotor, CAI, fuel filter, ignition coil, igniter, timing belt, valve adj.

Also, my timing is 16 degrees, all my grounds are tight, all filters are good.

One thing I noticed when I was checking timing........ my spark isn't consistent. The light will sometimes stutter (very slightly and at random). And it is on all plugs.

So, any reason why Im not getting a totally consistent spark ?

Retard you distributor forward and if it still does it then retard it backward if it stills does it. and fix the timing its probably off.

as I stated.....igniter (ignition module) is new.....

and I've tried all kinds of timing, doesn't effect it much as far as my problem concerns....

but it is right on 16 degrees right now......maybe more like 15 1/2 degrees actually...(my dizzy won't turn anymore than that).

If you can't get the timing within spec with the adjustment, it is likely your cam timing is off by a tooth. I believe the dizzy is bolted to the intake cam.

ah.....it's pretty close.......say 15 1/2 to 15 3/4 degrees...... but I'm sure that is not the problem of missing spark.....

random missed sparks I guess you would call it.

It is not noticable at Full throttle(runs like a mad ape!)......only at mild acceleration it stutters (and not all the time, just at random it seems) .

Regardless, I assure you cam timing is off if you can't get the timing in. Sounds like your intake cam is a tooth retarded, which will kill your low end and make your high end scream. I can also see it causing a miss down low. Not preventing a spark though. Check your wiring harness for dirty/bent connections.

I've been having same problem also. Turning the dizzy and just messin around with it helped alot. I still get it once in awhile now but only when I run cheaper 87 octane gas. 92 octane gives me no problems at all. Try the 92 octane gas and see if it doesn't improve at all.

**UPDATE**

Well, I'm running 92 octane w/ some Lucas Cleaner in it.........

SAME THING! Ever so slight stuttering effect (especially when cold).

I also installed a Fuel Pressure gauge....I get 32 psi @ idle.

----I've ordered an Air/Fuel ratio Gauge too......maybe that will help me figure out my problem ???

I just don't know anymore
